About Us

You can rely on the team at MacJimray for all your Waste Management needs

MacJimray Farm was purchased in 1978 by three mates – Mac, Jim and Ray

They proceeded to set up three businesses operated from the MacJimray Farm. One was milking and caring for a herd of 150 goats. The second was a timber business and third was the septic tank cleaning business in which they all took turns operating until 1985.

In 1985 the three friends decided to go their separate ways and focus on their individual businesses.  This was when Mac brought out the MacJimray Septic Tank Cleaning business.   Mac continued to operate that business single-handedly up until 2009.  At this time, the business had steadily grown and Mac found himself in need of another truck to keep up with the work, and so he bought on a second truck and his son Ray started to work full time in the business.

Prior to joining Mac at MacJimray’s, Ray had spent 12 years in the drainage industry. He had run his own contracting business for many years installing septic tanks, treatment plants and also branching into site work such as retaining walls, concrete laying, foundation work and general digger and truck hire.

MacJimray is unique in that we have our very own council approved sewage treatment system which includes a settling pond, weeping wall and mounds of dry matter which get turned regularly.  The process also includes a verma caste system where worms are used to break down the final product into fine compost.

Today MacJimray is run jointly by Father and Son. Mac focuses on the disposal and treatment of the liquid waste while still getting out on the trucks on occasion.  Ray and his wife Sarah have taken over the day to day running of the business.

The family prides itself on running an efficient, reliable and friendly service to all our regular and new customers.

“A very prompt, professional and friendly service, would definitely recommend.”
